Spring break has begun and this is the time for maximum project activity. I have, I think most of the supplies for the amp reader device, but not quite. If I finish it, I can use the rest of the time up until May to work on the displays.

I bought a cheap-o $10 multimeter and a neat-o amp clamp from MCM Electronics for $18.95.

I bought the clamp because I don’t want to intercept the circuit, see this for an explanation. How it works is you put it around the hot wire or the neutral wire, but not both, then you put your multimeter leads in two sockets on the clamp. I am dying to use it. Unfortunately my multimeter can’t read the slight AC to gives off, so I am going back to the store. It’s my own fault for not paying enough attention to specs.
